How might you use microblogging in Scholarship?

  • "Follow" people in your field
  • Mutually "Follow" colleagues and tweet about daily events relevant to your field

How might you use microblogging in Teaching & Learning?

  • Have students "Follow" you and tweet/post course-related information as well as announcements
  • Have students create accounts and tweet about relevant course information using keywords with hashtags -- this can be incorporated into Blackboard course announcements/content OR into a course blog or wiki. (see handout for instructions on how to bring a Twitter feed into Blackboard)

How might students use microblogging in their own lives?

  • Keep in contact with friends and family -- stay up-to-date on personal relationships
  • "Follow" people that are of interest to them
